Sai Natarajan is a Manawatū-based freelance composer and independent music producer with a special passion for storytelling through music. He primarily creates original music for multimedia, but he also loves writing for live orchestra. His music has been recorded/performed by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Wellington, the Manawatū Sinfonia, and the Manawatū Youth Orchestra, with his latest composition earning the Orchestra Choice award at the NZSO's 2023 Todd Corporation Young Composer Awards.

Sai's contribution to Celestial Waters may be his most ambitious orchestral piece to date. Featuring a softly eerie and mysterious opening that abruptly gives way to fierce, tumultuous orchestral colours and textures, his work (titled "A Beacon in the Cosmic Blizzard") evokes visions of a distant gleaming lighthouse in deep space, guiding vessels through great celestial storms. The piece is also a (perhaps-not-so-subtle) nod to well-known Hollywood sci-fi scores.
